Now this place is a total diamond in the ruff. For those with a bit of a daredevil side, this is the perfect afternoon outing.
The Montgomery County AirPark, located just 15 min away from Cadence at Crown, is home to a 4,200 foot runway, making them the closest “jetport” to the Nation’s Capital! Although the Airpark doesn’t offer them directly, flight schools and academies such as the Washington International Flight Academy (WIFA) and OpenAir, who both offer everything from private pilot lessons to Commercial License courses and Multi-Engine License courses to fly for a commercial airline. In fact, they even Flight Certified Flight Instructor Training so you can become an instructor, too!
If flying planes is a bit on the extreme side, maybe you’ll enjoy a lighter experience at the Community Museum located in Old Towne Gaithersburg in the restored 1884 B&O Railroad Station complex. The museum partnered with the Gaithersburg Historical Association to collect and showcase historical items such as photographs, documents and historic articles to give you a true taste of what the community was like decades ago. Located right across the street from Downtown Crown, Rio Washingtonian Center has everything you could ever want in a fun outing. Whether with friends, family, or even a date, they offer tons of great places to shop and eat. If you’re looking for a good date night atmosphere with a solid menu, we recommend going to Café Deluxe or Copper Canyon Grill. If you’re not trying to spend a lot, you can always head over to the AMC Lowes Rio Cinema for the latest blockbuster movie.
Our favorite part of Rio Washington has to be the lake. This lakefront center has a whole list of activities to choose from like a ride on the 30-horse carousel or floating around the lake with a dragons, swans, or flamingo themed paddleboat! If you ask us, this is a perfect place to spend a fun family weekend.
