Saving Montgomery County’s Animals is a Fun Walk in the Park!
Do you love dogs? Channel your passion for pooches, and enjoy a walk with your favorite four-legged friend during the 16th Annual Paws in the Park dog walk and festival on Sunday, April 26, from noon to 4 p.m.
One of the biggest dog-themed events in the Washington, D.C., area, Paws in the Park is hosted by the Montgomery County Humane Society and the City of Gaithersburg. But the walk is more than just a day in the park – it also raises money to help homeless and abandoned animals throughout Montgomery County. This year’s event will take place at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm, 506 South Fredrick Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland, next to Gaithersburg High School.
Striking a balance between charitable advocacy and lovable canine cuteness, Paws in the Park features a one-mile dog walk; pet contests and games; demonstrations; children’s activities; and a pet-oriented market featuring more than 50 vendors, food, and music.
Participants can register as walkers in the event and are encouraged to invite friends, family, and neighbors to support their fundraising efforts through online donations. Supporters can register individually or as families – and can fundraise as individuals or as part of a team. Advance registration (before 5 p.m. on April 25) is $20 for an individual and $45 for a family. Admission at the gate is $25 for an individual and $55 for a family.
To register and start fundraising online, visit the Montgomery County Humane Society online registration site at www.firstgiving.com/mchsmd. For more information, contact (240) 252-2555 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you at the park!
